Hi folks, this piece is actually trial work that went wrong on me, so in the end I adapted and this is the end result.

It’s on a 12″ x 10″ canvas, acrylic paint and card. I hope ye like it…

Premise behind work

Hey people, I thought it was about time that I posted something in the blog.

Firstly, thanks to all for their insightful comments on this piece in facebook. This post came about due to people wondering what the meaning was behind one of my Untitled works.

Well at the time when I was doing this piece, consciously I only had one idea/premise in mind.

It was simply this, love/emotion’s can be very well guarded by people and sometimes, it’s very hard to let them go. Also, it can be very frustrating when you may be the one trying to get through someone else’s barriers. Hence the maze around the heart and the fact that yes, life can be a maze of emotions so to speak.

Having said that, there is always hope which is why I chose the bright colours and didn’t close off around the heart.

I must actually do this more often, I love seeing how people interpret art and it was only when the comments came in that I realised that no one was wrong. What I mean is, I could see and relate to all the comments.

I’ve said this before, I honestly believe that emotions and state of mind play a big part when being creative. Maybe subconsciously a lot more came through in this piece than I thought :O))….

Well that’s it, I hope that explains it for ye and once again a massive thanks to those of ye that gave their thoughts….

Paddy’s Day

Hi folks, for anyone that doesn’t know I am indeed Irish and with that in mind I thought I’d have some fun. St. Patrick’s Day is nearly here and I figured that I should celebrate with a fun piece of work.

I chose to go with a harp instead of a shamrock just as a personnel choice. Most people put up shamrock bunting and stickers etc. So I just wanted to be a little different with mine, hope ye like it…
